We recommend that you start the process of having a Couture dress made about 6-9 months before your wedding date, however it is possible to work to shorter lead times.
The first appointment with Caroline will be a relaxing chat to go through your ideas of your wedding dress, lots of clients have images and ideas, these are helpful to bring along to the appointment.
The next stage is to design your dress, and for you to look at the sketches and fabrics
Then the exciting part of creating your dream dress can begin.
The first stage in crafting your dress begins with making a ‘toile’ a mock up dress. This is made in inexpensive versions of your fabrics and helps you visualise your dress before it’s made. Changes can still be made to the design at this stage.
Your dress will then be created in the real fabrics, a further 2-3 fittings are required to complete your design, and make your dream dress a reality.
Caroline trained at the prestigious London College of Fashion, where she gained her BA(HONS) in Costume design. Working in the costume industry, alongside film and television enhanced her talent for design.
A career in Bridal design soon followed where Caroline was appointed head designer, at an established bridal house, creating fabulous collections and developing her signature style which mixes elegant bridalwear with her love of theatrical glamour.
The natural progression was to launch her own studio Caroline Couture which is now run from her Hertfordshire home.
